When your app needs to save things, like orders, sign-ups or notes, add a database in one click. Roar AI sets it up next to your app and connects the two for you.
Most of the work in running a database starts after it has been created.
| On your own | Roar AI | |
|---|---|---|
| Create it | Pick a provider, a plan and a region | One click when you create your app |
| Connect it to your app | Copy a password into your app’s settings | Done for you |
| Keep it near your app | Choose the right region yourself | Always in your app’s region |
| Back it up | Set up backups and check they work | Twice a day, kept ninety days |
| Update it when your app changes | Run the changes by hand | Run on each deploy for popular frameworks |
| See what is in it | Install a database tool | Browse it in the console |
Each database belongs to one app and is never shared with anything else.
The database cannot be reached from the internet. You see your data in the console, where your login protects it.
A health view shows how busy the database is, how quickly it answers and whether anything has gone wrong.
It can store what AI search needs, right next to the rest of your app’s data.
Roar AI runs PostgreSQL 16, one of the most widely used databases, with the pgvector extension installed for AI search.
Roar AI adds DATABASE_URL to your app’s settings on its next deploy. Laravel apps also get DB_CONNECTION and DB_URL, and anything you have set yourself is never overwritten. A Django app should read DATABASE_URL in its settings.
No. The database cannot be reached from the internet. Use the table browser and SQL editor in the Roar AI console, or let an AI assistant read it through the Roar AI MCP server.
Databases are available in Bangalore, Singapore and Colombo. Apps in Sydney can connect a database you already have, and managed databases are coming there.
For apps built with Prisma, Drizzle, Alembic, Django, Rails or Laravel, Roar AI runs your migrations before each new version goes live. You can turn this off, or run them yourself from the console.
The database is removed with the app. Its off-site backups are kept for ninety days and then deleted.
Create a free account, deploy your app and choose a database in the same step.
