Calling the Claude API from India
The Roar AI gateway speaks the OpenAI API format. Point the OpenAI SDK at Roar AI and name a Claude model; moving to another provider’s model later is a change to the model name. Requests use the OpenAI chat format rather than Anthropic’s Messages API, so code written for the Anthropic SDK needs its client swapped for the OpenAI one.

Claude models are processed on international infrastructure, outside India. Requests from India go through our gateway in Bangalore. The rest of the way, the route is the one we chose for each model, and it stays the same from call to call.
